Five new-generation designers, Ron Verlin, Maria Roosiaas, Hanna Tiina Pekk, Jaagup Kaiv and Kristiina Tali, step onto the stage with their graduation collections, where avant-garde vision meets wearable form. "Finiśage" is not just a show, but a finale where memory, rebellion, and raw honesty collide in one charged performance.

This Monday, August 25th, at Sakala 3 Teatrimaja, fashion meets theatre in a two-act production that feels more like a culmination than a debut. Ahead of the show, Laura Eemann asked the five: What comes after? & When did five voices find one echo - and what is the magic within it?

“Next comes the following day. And after that, another day. I try not to overthink it too much - words my mother often tells me, and which accompany me every day: “everything will go the way it’s meant to.”

What lies ahead will surely bring something new. The necessary tools of fashion design are now in place; it’s time to see how they could also be applied in other fields.”

“Honestly, I’m incredibly excited to finally turn away from those 18-hour workdays and adjust to a new routine. There’s an opportunity to spend some time abroad and continue building my skills there, but I know for certain that this path will eventually lead me back to Estonia.”

“I feel that what lies ahead is a much-needed pause for breath. After four intense years, we finally have a moment to breathe in and out together, to look back on what has passed and truly process it. It feels like a meaningful milestone in our journey – but at the same time, also the beginning of a new chapter. If I want to take my creative work to the next level, I feel the need to test my skills abroad, starting with an internship. Then I can return to Estonia stronger, bringing with me something personal and distinctive. And from there… well, the story continues.”

“I want to keep myself as open as possible to different opportunities. I feel it’s still too early to define a very specific direction or professional focus – many different paths speak to me, and I want to experience where I feel the most at home. In the near future, I’m considering looking abroad, to grow in a new environment and step away from the familiar for a while. Life will make its own adjustments, and I try not to cling too tightly to the ideals I’ve created in my mind. In the bigger picture, I hope to eventually reach a point where I can take the time to truly immerse myself and create with focus.”

The Designers’ Collective Statement

“It’s hard to pinpoint one single defining moment – rather, it was a smooth blending together. The way our group formed could almost be summed up by the cliché “being in the right place at the right time.” Looking back, the chances of our paths crossing at that exact moment seem slim, yet for the past four years we’ve been able to reach the finish line by leaning on one another.

From the beginning, a strong work ethic carried through all of us. Spending endless hours working alone at school isn’t exactly sustainable for the mind, and it quickly became clear that doing it as five was not only easier but also far more effective. We’ve been able to support one another on this shared journey, and never once did it feel like we were competing against each other.

By the end of these four years, one of the key words has become the joy of recognition. With these people, even failures and low points can be celebrated just as powerfully as the highlights. No subject or feeling is off-limits. While we each have quite different personalities, together we form a logical whole where recognition and resonance are constant.

Working side by side for so long brought us infinitely closer than struggling alone ever could have. The real magic lies in our shared resistance to the egoism that is so often present in the fashion world. There are already plenty of people out there ready to tear you down at any chance – so why isolate ourselves even further?

We’ve often said to each other that we’ve never before experienced such a sense of unity and freedom to simply be ourselves.”
