Pink Is the Portal: New Ro on Art, Grief & Radical Self-Love

27 Jan 2026

Their Pinkness aka Ronja Stanley aka New Ro is a musician, an artist and protector of the pink non-cult led by supreme Their Pink Eminence, who blesses us every Friday with bubbles for making it through the week. This full-time pink phenomenon is helping us all love ourselves a little more and take no BS, blending hype songs with heartfelt pep talks. But it’s not about being blindly positive; it’s about feeling all the emotions life has to offer us, and turning self-discovery, grief, and glitter into a wildly comforting art form.

So Eva-Liisa took her camera and went to the headquarters of Their Pinkness, where pics were taken, questions were asked, and answers were given.

You haven’t always been pink. Can you tell us about your color transformation process?

It happened gradually. I was going through a time of deeper self-discovery and started adding more pink to my outfits. It gave me so much joy, and the more I added, the more complete I felt as a human being. It made everything easier: the joy of being myself, the strength in having a consistent visual brand… before I knew it, I was pink from head to toe, and I haven’t looked back since.

What does pink represent to you?

It’s truly the color of my soul. It’s my identity, a portal to the source of my creative expression. To me, life is performance art. Through pinkness, I live as I was born to live: always creating, performing, and making people smile – myself included.

You write empowering hype songs that make us feel confident in ourselves. You have also gone through a lot in the year 2025. Does the inspiration for these songs come from your own experiences?

Writing about the stuff that’s going on in my life is how I work through things. And it’s extremely comforting to know that if my life is an absolute trainwreck, I’m probably about to write an amazing album.

Why do you think these empathetic hype songs and pep talks resonate so strongly with people?

Humans need comfort, we need compassion. We want to feel safe and cared for. Receiving that straight up can give a sense of relief when Monday is hitting a bit too hard, life is overwhelming or scary and unpredictable. It’s not something you necessarily tell your friend or loved one every single day. I can just pop up out of nowhere and provide that service!

You have been in show business for a long time. How has your journey shaped you into the artist you are today?

Nothing beats the mileage. I’ve evolved as a human and an artist, and I’m secure with myself. My skills only get sharper, and my moves get sicker, respectfully. I love honing my craft year after year; I’m very passionate and critical about my own artistic development. For me, this is a lifelong gig, and I’m more bonkers than the show business itself, so I love thinking outside of the box to make it my own.

You are also a comedian, and on your social media you create funny reels. Tell us about the birth story behind the character Their Pink Eminence?

First of all, Their Pink Eminence is not a character but a real-life non-holy entity that appears almost every Friday to give a non-religious blessing on my grid. I don’t know how it happened, they just started appearing a little over a year ago. I’m only a loyal disciple, an assistant to Their Pink Eminence, who works in mischievous ways for millions and millions of cult members.

You just had your first (sold-out) cabaret in Helsinki. That’s not something you see very often these days. What do you find appealing about cabaret as an art form?

My singing, motivational spirit, visual aesthetic/eye candy, my songwriting, physical comedy, and storytelling all have to come together on one stage, and that’s what the format of a cabaret allows me to do.

What kind of intuition or feelings do you have about this upcoming year, and what can we expect from you in the future?

I’m going through big changes in my life, and above all, losing my father will be a continued battle with grief. But music and creativity are pouring out of me, and I will keep creating and performing through the good, bad, and the ugly. I’m taking this cabaret wherever they will let me in! An album is in the works too, along with lots and lots of content. I’m sharing EV-ERY-THING.

Last but not least, can we have your non-religious blessings to get through the week?

I have just received a message directly from Their Pink Eminence that was delivered in a big bubble traveling on a pink cloud of fairy dust. They want to wish you minimal emotional hemorrhoids and maximum snacks and frolicking. Ramen!
