Trickster is glad to introduce Sasha Khokh, photographer based in Tallinn. Her work is mostly about storytelling through female characters, their sensuality, and inner strength. Lately, Khokh has been drawn to more narrative-driven stories, where emotions range from quiet coldness to raw rage, but always with strong, complex heroines at the center. Here she shares her icy project Echo & Shadow, created with make-up artist IonKate and brought to life with the help of Kamila Kučíková.
Inspired by vintage archival works, Echo & Shadow blends timeless aesthetics with a fantastical perspective. The editorial revolves around two heroines, played by Maria and Mari-Liis Kriisa: two sisters, or perhaps two rulers of a mystical universe. An open-ended narrative, allowing each viewer to interpret it in their own way.
